“We have to fight them daily, like fleas, those many small worries about the morrow, for they sap our energies.” – Etty Hillesum
Worry is a killer, it causes us stress and stress is a huge factor in disease. Fear not! When we think about worrying most of us think about the big stuff. We think that if we do not worry about the big stuff we are not a worrier. Truth be known we all have some worry in us. We worry about our children, our parents as they get older, the car, the house, the hurricane that is approaching… We know that we become what we think about so remaining in the worry only enhances the probability of a negative result!
Warding off the worry is possible, here is what I do. I talk to myself, I talk my way through it. I ask myself questions, like how is it really going to turn out? What can I do now to enhance the chance that the results turn out positive? I ask God for help. Then I do my best to clear it from my mind and take the next right step. In the beginning it feels like you are blowing it off, but as the results pour in you realize that the worry would have only paralyzed you. So as the song goes, “Don’t worry, be happy!”
Life is gooooood!
Go, Go, Go…
