The question should be, is it worth trying to do, not can it be done.” – Allard Lowenstein

An early phase in the recovery process is termed the contemplative phase.  It is the stage where we are contemplating whether we can, could, should or would be successful.  Honestly it is FEAR rearing it’s ugly head.  For me at the time I knew in my heart that I was not becoming the person I wanted to be.  I did not know which way to turn.  I was certainly lost in the circle of life.  I hated myself at the time. But somewhere deep inside I had the Willingness to TRY!

Looking back at it all, what choice did I really have?  Was it worth it?  You bet your butt it was.  Life is soooo gooood today.  Sure there are ups and downs.  We all have challenges to face, but the recovered life for those of us afflicted with addiction is life and joy at last!

Go, Go, Go…
