The Heart of a Champion

Courage is doing what you’re afraid to do. There can be no courage unless you’re scared.  – Eddie Rickenbacker

The message of Real Life Recovery is to show average and ordinary people that they can build a life they are proud of and they can gain independence for themselves and their families.  If we have “heart and drive”, and want to do something great with our lives, we need to dream again, set goals and become what we are capable of becoming.

To accomplish something great in this world we need to have a Purpose, Service is Purpose.  People are of the utmost importance in this world.   How we treat people will determine our success or failure as a human being. Integrity first and foremost.

To achieve success we need to develop a ‘burning desire’ to succeed and a ‘will to win.’ What is a Burning desire?  It is your pride, ego, and the hope of the fulfillment of reaching your potential!

You have to believe, Henry Ford once said, “If you think you can win or if you think you can’t, you’re right!”  Life will eventually turn out for you the way you see it turning out.  You must see good things happening again. You must like yourself again. You must be excited about life again.  Know that it takes Effort!!!  “Nothing worth having comes easy.   Recovery is work!   Phase one “Discovery” is the hardest work.  It starts with the  Admission process that is admitting that our current strategies are not working and that a change or shift is in order.  Then making the Decision, which creates the commitment.  When we “Decide” we are essentially eliminating any other option!

If alcohol or other mind altering substances are holding you back from being all that you can be there is a way out, it is called “Recovery”,   Recovery is life and Life is Great!!!

Go, Go, Go…
