Talent

Whatever you are by nature, keep to it; never desert your line of talent. Be what nature intended you for and you will succeed.”  – Sidney Smith

We all have God given talent.  Now surely, to become excellent or proficient at anything we must practice.  Michael Jordan became great not solely on his incredible talent, his incredible work ethic and commitment to excel is what made him the greatest basketball player to ever live!  There must be an alignment between talent, work ethic and ability to become proficient.  Certainly a 50 year old five foot two dude is not going to make the NBA!  In the recovered life we must evaluate our talents, abilities, and our likes in order to set a clear path for our purpose in life.

As a recovered individual we are always called to service.  When the hand of another is out we need to be there for that person.  Yet for most of us a profession in service is not our thing.  It is not where our talents lie.  Focus on what you enjoy, make the decision to excel and go for it!

Happy Valentines Day to all!

Go, Go, Go…

Dan 🙂
