Ride the wave, but…

The boisterous sea of liberty is never without a wave.

Thomas Jefferson

Freedom from the bondage of addiction takes work.  Working through the good times as well as the not so good times.  The waters are rough at times for all of us recovering people are not excluded from this act of nature.  We learn more from our challenges than we ever learn from times of peace and tranquility.  The freedom we achieve as a result of recovery from alcohol and or drugs is worth the price.

Life for everyone is a journey filled with expectations, joy, sadness, fun, focus and more.  The fun times we need to ride those waves right on in to the shore.  However, much like a day of surfing we realize that as the wave closes in on the shore it will break.  When it does we need to paddle right on back out for the next wave.  Laying on the beach may be an option for some but for most of us hopping back on the board and attaining our goals is essential and rewarding!

Go, Go, Go…
