Radar

No matter what we do in life there will always be turbulence.  It is simply part of life.  I travel quite a bit via air.  Every once in awhile the pilot will turn on the fasten seat belt sign because there is turbulence on the way.  Sure enough within a minute or so it gets a bit bumpy!  Wouldn’t it be nice if we had the radar on in life that said hey a bit of turbulence is heading your way!  Buckle up it is gonna be for 22 minutes!  I bet we would think a bit differently about it wouldn’t we?  In early recovery I remember going through the turbulence and thinking “is it ever gonna end”? Today, my past experiences of overcoming the turbulence is my radar.  No longer is it natural to shift in to panic mode or doubt mode!  Just okay, I am okay, I trust in God, please offer me the insight and willingness to make the adjustments I need to make.

Once in awhile a pilot will come on and say, we have some turbulence heading our way, I am asking for clearance to head up over top of it.  I will keep you posted.  The great thing is when they get the clearance to move up above the turbulence.  What a relief a calm flight!  It is the same way today for us in recovery.  We can fly above the turbulence.  Each day when we put our spiritual armor on via prayer and meditation we increase our altitude to fly above the turbulence!  When we stay and live in the positive, the possibility thinking we increase our altitude.  Our daily disciplines help us to rise above.

Go, Go, Go…

Dan 🙂
