Pro-active recovery

Twenty-seven years ago today I walked out from under the supervision of the New York State Department of Correctional Services.  I have never returned with the exception of the times I have visited a friend,  during my work or my ministry.   Many people have not been as fortunate.  Many people get on the merry-go-round of the prison system.  In and out and back in and out ad infinitum.   How does one get off the merry-go-round?  It is simple, pro-active recovery.

Simple but not easy.  The way to a lasting recovery is simple, don’t drink and go to meetings, buy into the power of the recovered people before us.

Do what they do and have what they have.  What do they have? Peace, joy and happiness!  How?  Honesty, open-minded-ness, and willingness.  How? Applying the steps into your life.  How? By asking God for help and accepting that help.  How? Making the decision to do so.  How? One day at a time.
