Persistence and Hope!

Life is not easy for any of us. But what of that? We must have perseverance.  — Marie Curie

Last night I answered a call from a friend, I will call him “B”, he said he was in NY and in need of help. I introduced him to another friend in NY who helped. This morning I received this from “B”:

“If I quit now, if I find the strength now… and now is it. I can survive and live again.

If I do it now.

If I fall again, its going to go real bad, real fast.

Thank you for that contact, that fast. I was trying to act like I was building the ark, before the rain, but that was ego, and acting like I wasn’t in trouble yet.

The mere fact, I was going to walk into a church, to me was a dead giveaway, I was already starting to loose it.

I will not abuse the relationship with W., but I know damn well, even from a hop skip and a jump away, he’s someone I will listen to.

Hell I meditated last night…. “B””.

B has been my friend for quite a while and has battled the bottle but he is persistent. I was excited he reached out for help. It is always awesome when we can put our hands out to help another human in the grips of alcoholism. It is even greater to be able to know that there are others out there as well that will help when asked! I thank my friend William for the help and willingness to be there for “B”!

Life is good!

Go, Go, Go…

Good morning Dan,
Great meesage to all in recovery, for to keep the gift of living a sober journey through life, we must give it to others in carrying the message. I know this to be true due to the fact of my experiance in recovery. As we help others in doing all the forms of service in AA,, we deepen our connection to the fellowship and grow within this blessing of being sober. But for the Grace of God there go I !
Love ya
William
