Perserverance

“Life is not easy for any of us. But what of that?  We must have perseverance.”  Marie Curie

Through thick and thin life is good.  Simply because we stop using alcohol or drugs does not mean that life gets easy.  Life can be difficult at times.  That is simply the way life unfolds.  Persevering through the difficult times makes life fun and enjoyable during the easier times in life.  The recovered life is a benefit to us as alcoholic or other substance abusers.  We are retaught tools for overcoming challenges, for enjoying life on life’s terms, and living in congruence with our values.

Life gets better and better and better each and every day.  In the beginning of recovery we think it is impossible to live a life of abstinence.  We simply can not imagine a life without the use of our crutch.  But once we take the leap we see life for what it really is, a pleasure, an honor, a way to share our joy, hope and love!  Live life well!!!

Go, Go, Go…
