No Worries

Do not anticipate trouble, or worry about what may never happen. Keep in the sunlight”  –  Benjamin Franklin

I have a few friends from Australia that I picked up the phrase of “No Worries”.  The first time I heard one of them say it I thought, Yeah, no worries!  Worrying cripples our joy.  Worry cripples our decision making process.  Worry cripples our health, physically, mentally and spiritually.  There is no place in my life for worry.

Is it natural to worry?  Sure is, but excessive worry only hurts us.  When I catch myself worrying today, I simply say to myself, “Clear” and look quickly at the issue and make the decision that if it is something I can do or change I do it if not a simple clear and move on!  Sounds a bit familiar you say?  Sure is, “The Serenity Prayer”.

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I can not change.

Courage to Change the things I can.

It is amazing the things you can worry yourself about that haven’t even happened and may never! I have become pretty good about not worrying about a whole lot. But beware! there is a difference between worrying and caring.
