“They may forget what you said, but they will never forget how you made them feel.”
– Carl W. Buechner
I have to remind myself of the reason I do what I do. My purpose, my vision, my desire is to make the world a better place. For a very long time I did not see my role clearly enough. Sure I am good, maybe even pretty damn good at what I do, which is, I help to make people feel special. I am a catalyst for positive change in peoples lives. But, somewhere underneath it all is the radio station, “WIFM” (What’s In It For Me) playing between my two ears. In fact, sometimes the volume plays so loud that I believe my own press! But at the end of the day, when I look in the mirror, I am what I am called to be, a messenger of hope. Just a fellow that has been saved from the bondage of addiction trying to make the world a better place!
Today I will walk, talk and act like the person I am striving to be. Today I will put in the effort and give my all to the cause. Today I ask that I remain true to the cause, and I fight the good fight. Today I will do my best to make the world a better place. I cannot fail, I will not fail, I have been given this gift of sobriety, I will give it back. Life is Goooood!!!
Go, Go, Go…
