Love and to be loved…

To love and be loved is to feel the sun from both sides”  – David Viscott

We all toss around idealistic points of view when it comes to certain topics like, money, relationships, family, and love.  Talk to a person that is dealing with an issue in one of these areas and give them the old text book point of view and on the inside they practically want to kill you!  In fact we all have been there.  When it comes to life we must all experience it.  If we trivialize it or trivialize someone’s life because we want to box it up and make it all sound good we are making a mistake.  The truth is that we all want love.  We all want to be loved.  We all want a companion sometimes a married companion sometimes simply a buddy that goes home every night.  But we all desire to have someone in our lives that loves us and we love them.

Whether you are religious, I prefer the term spiritual, or not Proverbs is a wonderful tool to use in our daily meditation.  There is so much wisdom for everyday life contained.  “The heart of the wise teaches his mouth, and adds learning to his lips” (Proverbs 16:23, NKJV). The heart is often portrayed as the center of our emotions.  In challenges we teach I/E Intellect over Emotion so that we can gain clarity and a perspective outside of our emotional self.  However, we can not deny the desire to be loved and to love.  Love is key in our recovery and all areas of our lives.  Can love be toxic?  Surely but that may not be love, it is chasing emotion among other issues.  But when push comes to shove love gives us hope, happiness and joy, love from God, another, family, friends

Go, Go, Go…
