Watch what direction the feet point, when the mouth stops. You want a consistency between mouth and movement. –James Dignam
I often talk about action but not often in this context. When I was sober about two years I was dating. In the past I had girlfriends and I had been married previously but I had never actually had a relationship that I was present for. I had always taken my relationships for granted. One thing I remember distinctly is the lady I was dating would say to me, “it’s in the actions”! Honestly I was clueless and simply wanted peace, love and understanding. I assumed that everyone including her wanted the same so why make a big deal of things?
Over the years I have learned why. Our actions speak louder than our words. What one does is so loud that people can hardly hear what one says. Each and every one of us want to be judged by our intentions however it is our actions that truly tell the tale. Recovery is about honesty, living an honest and integrity based life. I have not always lived up to this standard and I am embarrassed about that but on a daily basis I work to put in the footwork and act like the person I am becoming.
Life is gooooood!
Go, Go, Go…
