“If we don’t change, we don’t grow. If we don’t grow, we are not really living. Growth demands a temporary surrender of security.”
– Gail Sheehy

Feeding our baby Amazons
Growing up is part of recovery. They say that when we began to drink and/or drug we stopped growing emotionally. We need to pick up where we left off or were left off. Chronologically we are one age but emotionally we are much younger.
In order to grow we must change, we must take risks even risks that are extremely calculated. I recognize that not everyone has the personality to be a risk taker, however there are risks that we must take if we expect to be successful in recovery. For instance the risk of asking someone to be our sponsor.
If we want joy in our life we must grow up. If we want peace in our life we must change the way we see things, respond to life events and take the necessary risks when faced with change! Life is goooood!
Go, Go, Go…
