If You Think You Can…

“I have learned, as a rule of thumb, never to ask whether you can do something. Say, instead, that you are doing it. Then fasten your seat belt. The most remarkable things follow.” – Julia Cameron

The quote that sticks to me to this day is Henry Fords, “Whether you think you can or you think you can’t you’re right”!  Early on in alcohol and/or drug addiction recovery we typically think we can’t stop!  We feel as if we are doomed with no way out!  We say to ourselves in a negative tone, “how can I possibly do this”?  What we really need to say in a positive tone actually seeking the answer is, “HOW CAN I DO THIS”?  When we seek, we find!

Remarkable things follow the action steps.  In fact in the twelve step model it states that before we are half-way through we will know a new freedom!  A new way of life, a new approach to happiness.  The joy of living.  Life is an opportunity take advantage of it!  Go for it!!!

Go, Go, Go…

Dan 🙂

That’s really beautiful Dan. I’m glad I stumbled across tihs… I love Julia Cameron, her The Artist’s Way really spoke to the creative artist me 🙂

I also love Henry Ford, especially after reading much about him in Napoleon Hill’s Think And Grow Rich 😀

I’d like to add that ‘actions’ tend to follow in beautiful, miraculous, inspired ways, when one is able to hold powerful thoughts like “I CAN” with as little doubt as possible.

Anyway, thanks for the chance to share, and thanks for helping so many on their path to a new life 🙂 Rock on.
