If you can’t walk, crawl…

If you can’t fly, run. If you can’t run, walk. If you can’t walk, crawl. But by all means, keep moving.  — Martin Luther King, Jr.

Inch by inch it’s a cinch, yard by yard it’s hard! The founders of AA had some great insights. Before anyone ever labeled post acute withdrawal syndrome (PAWS) they knew that withdrawal was a bumble bee! It was tough and just when you thought it was over it sent the message “Frig It” to your mind and bam you were sitting on a bar stool again or walking out of a liquor store with a fifth! Thus, the “One day at a time” message. Inch by inch…

Of course this principle goes for any drug! We must keep it simple, focus on what we can do or handle at this given moment. The principle extends beyond early recovery, it is a principle we can live by for the rest of our lives. Of course we do not utilize it to avoid becoming all we can be but rather to align and realign our sails as we walk the road to a happy destiny! Life is good!

Go, Go, Go…

Dan 🙂

Hello Dan
Thx for your service! I have been in contact with John J.
and he is in need of our prayers. As one gets sober we get to witness
those who fall back to the booze. To end, but for the Grace of
God there go I. In moving forward in my life, somedays walking,
other days crawling, I find it fuels the hope and spirit one day
at a time to just keep taking action, keep moving forward knowing
the good Lord is moving with me.
