Happy Mothers Day

We all know that despite what the show in the 60’s said, it is really “Mother Knows Best” and not necessarily Father Knows Best!  Our Mom’s are often the foundation of our families.  She is the one with us 24/7 for the first 4 or 5 years of our lives.  Yes dad is important, but Mom’s have the job of getting us ready for school, friendships, love, discipline, consistency, joy, happiness, disciplines, how we eat, dress, clean ourselves, and much, much, more…

Yes I know that some folks did not have the traditional family.  Some moms had professional careers and others were simply forced to work to keep the family finances on track.  Today we get to celebrate our mothers, grandmothers, our friends that are mothers.  No matter what the circumstances the ups or downs of our lives, yes as a social worker, sponsor, friend of many recovered folks I also realize that some of our mothers may not have lead the life we are proud of nor want to celebrate.  But today, we celebrate for all the women that are mothers, mothers to be, like my lovely daughter Kristin, their lives their love, their contribution to our lives.  Today we say thank you!  Thank you Mom!

Go, Go, Go…

Dan 🙂
