Other people and things can stop you temporarily. You’re the only one who can do it permanently.
— Zig Ziglar
I have a quote on my desk by Sir Winston Churchill that reminds me to never give up, never, never, never… Winning in life is an inside job. We must be willing to face the fear, negativity and of course our own doubt. But we can not allow any of that to stop us from achieving our purpose here on earth.
Those of us that have recovered from this dreadful disease of addiction and those of us in the process know the depths of despair that addiction and alcoholism has taken us. Today we have the hope for a prosperous future a rewarding future filled with happiness and joy, but we must stay focused on the rewards and keep doing the work no matter what we are told or think. We can not afford to allow negativity to rear its ugly head in our path.
I have been blessed to work with individuals on a daily basis that are new to the recovery process and when I see the hope in their eyes for the first time in many years it gets me excited. Life is meant to be enjoyed and not endured and when we succumb to the negativity we endure life! So never, ever, ever quit on yourself, never!
Go, Go, Go…
