Most people are paralyzed by fear a very select few thrive in the face of fear. If fear paralyzes then how can we take action to overcome the fear? Certainly this is not an easy task however, it can be accomplished. The key is recognition early on. We need to connect our minds with our bodies and listen to our bodies for the signals it offers. For instance the pit that hits deep down in the gut is a sign of fear. A sudden burst of anger whether you express it or hold it in is a sign that fear has reared its ugly head!
When these signals come we need to recognize them for what they are immediately. We can not allow them to consume us. We need to state the feeling, restate the feeling and evaluate whether it is factual or imagined. We need to utilize out self talk to counter the attack. For instance one thing I say to myself is “wait a minute Danny Boy, 99.9999% of the time things do not turn out the way I fear, and this is probably one of them”! Finally always call your sponsor!!!!
