“Moral excellence comes about as a result of habit… we become just by doing just acts, temperate by doing temperate acts, brave by doing brave acts.”
– Aristotle

There is nothing more heroic for the addict or alcoholic than to take the action to recover.  There are braver things for people to do or overcome but for the addict without recovery they typically sit the sideline and watch life go by!  When a newcomer begins their journey they often want to adjust the program to fit their lifestyle or what they think is their lifestyle.  They often say things like, “I will go to a couple of meetings a week, but not a meeting every day”!  Of course I let them know that “we” recognize that it seems like a huge commitment and it feels like a long time but “we” suggest 90 meetings in 90 days.  When you complete that then make a decision what to do next.

If you are going to build a productive habit it takes repetition and consistency.  Ninety meetings in ninety days is the foundation for the new productive habit.  An inconsistent effort will result in an inconsistent result!

Go, Go, Go…

Great website. As a recovered alcohol addict I can relate to your post. In my case, my family definitely helped me get through tough times when I needed them. Also, finding a motivation or somekind of a purpose to quit also helps a lot. Your website will definitely help a lot of people with their addiction recovery process. Keep up the good work!
