If you are going to achieve excellence in big things, you develop the habit in little matters. Excellence is not an exception, it is a prevailing attitude.
When I think of excellence I think back to my propensity to judge myself radically. In the early years of recovery I would get down on myself or my mistakes. Fortunately for the fellowship and my support group it was pointed out to me that we strive for spiritual progress not spiritual perfection. Over the years I have learned there is a difference between perfection and excellence.
Perfection is the need to be right while excellence is the drive to take action. When we act with the tools we have been given, developed and taught we are living in excellence. We strive to do what is right, rewarding and beneficial to us and others. Excellence is always in the actions.
Life is gooood!!!
