A real decision is measured by the fact that you’ve taken a new action. If there’s no action, you haven’t truly decided. Tony Robbins
The decision making process is exactly that a process. There are four aspects of the process. First we must decide to take action. We must recognize that the word DECIDE means that we “cut off ALL other options”. When we decide we commit to the process which is the second aspect of the process. If we do not commit to the decision we will not follow through with the decision. We must also recognize that our decisions must be in congruence with our goals, needs and values. If the decision is out of alignment with what we need in our lives we will not follow through. Finally, we must take action. If there is no action there is no decision.
Step Three says that we “Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God, as we understood Him”. There are so many people in this world that has recovered using these principles. We know they work and they work well. Recovery is in our best interest and is congruent with a happy, healthy and sober life. Simply make the commitment and take action. What is the action? The Steps!
