“Iron rusts from disuse; stagnant water loses its purity and in cold weather becomes frozen; even so does inaction sap the vigor of the mind.”

Leonardo da Vinci

I am never amazed when I hear the question, “do I have to do this forever”? or the statement, “I am not going to meetings forever”!  The truth is, over the course of time we change and we find out that our recovered life takes effort, this is not exclusive to recovery.  People that are happy, joyous and free whether in recovery or not, stay active.  They live there lives with PURPOSE.  They get up in the morning grateful for another day and they hit the pillow at night grateful for another successful day on earth.

Living a life of purpose gives us something to wake up to and the hope to awaken in the morning.  To me this is relapse prevention.  Stay active in your life, give to others, and be grateful!

Go, Go, Go…

I came across this quote after I posted kinda fits I would say!

“We are at our very best, and we are happiest, when we are fully engaged in work we enjoy on the journey toward the goal we’ve established for ourselves. It gives meaning to our time off and comfort to our sleep. It makes everything else in life so wonderful, so worthwhile.”
— Earl Nightingale
