“People often say that motivation doesn’t last. Well, neither does bathing – that’s why we recommend it daily.”
A daily reprieve…
– Zig Ziglar
Prayer and meditation has been a key ingredient for my recovery. Many years ago I added positive affirmations on top of the two. My affirmations I now have programmed into my smart phone in the calendar function. They are set to alert me throughout the day of who I am, where I am going and what I want to be. It is an extension of my prayer and meditation commitment. They are hourly reminders that keep me focused on my purpose and commitment to God, my family, friends and other people I work with or come into contact with.
I start my day with the Third and Seventh Step prayers, I take time to read and meditate and then I set my state of mind with a group of positive affirmations, my morning mental workout. I have learned that starting my day right leads me to a great day each and every day. I have learned over the years that I can start over at any time of the day as well. My reminders help me to shift back into a positive mode.
As we approach the New Year take the time today to commit or recommit yourself to prayer, meditation and positive affirmations!!!
Go, Go, Go…
