“It’s not what you’ve got, it’s what you use that makes a difference.” —Zig Ziglar
Yesterday my son Sean posted on my Facebook page a congratulatory message for attaining 9,000 days of continuous sobriety. I tried to think back about what was going on in the world in 1988. I couldn’t remember a thing to be honest. I remember the day that I decided to recover but only the personal stuff. Then I started thinking about how life has changed over the past 9,000 days.
What I have learned is vast, I recognize today that tomorrow brings a new opportunity. That the mistakes I make today I can rectify when I recognize them as mistakes. I realize that life is what we make it and I’m not here to just take from it. Each and every day gets better and better as I put my next foot forward doing what I can to make a difference.
Today is a great day, another sober day, one in 9,000 and God willing many more to come! Life is good…
Go, Go, Go…
Dan 🙂
